Ron Johnson covered for a sexual abuser at a university. He's a creeper and traitor to this country. He is an election denier.

I am engaged in grassroots, party, and national efforts to combat Medicaid cuts. I've had conversations recently with non-Harris voters (one Trump voter, one write-in) who consistently echoed concerns about waste and fraud.

This widespread narrative signals that we are losing the messaging battle. Simply denying the existence of waste and fraud, or minimizing its extent, is proving ineffective. A robust national effort is critically needed to counter this entrenched, false narrative, much as the anti-DEI sentiment has taken hold. While belated, I remain hopeful for a stronger, unified national message. Ben, take the lead, please.

In the absence of effective national counter-narratives, sharing compelling local stories becomes paramount. However, many Medicaid recipients, and even those navigating Social Security and Medicare applications who face similar fears and extensive delays, are understandably reluctant to speak publicly.

On a separate but related note: I hope you will feel more comfortable sharing opinions on relevant issues. For instance, I wish prominent activists like David Hogg would direct more energy toward developing novel strategies to counter prevailing political narratives, rather than focusing solely on issues like the equivalent of age limits for elected officials or adherence to specific progressive tenets.

None of the Republicans are using common sense. They’re so busy trying to keep the tax cuts going that they have forgotten who they’re elected to represent. Let the tax cuts expire; beef up the IRS the way Biden tried to do; collect the billions of taxes owed; that would help a lot. Why are they so determined to punish their constituents?

Please stop saying it’s just about funding tax breaks-they don’t care about the deficit-it really seems more about legalizing what is currently illegal, giving em unfettered control of AI and thereby reducing state power and it’s about hatred for poor and sick people

It’s disgusting that their reticence is about fear of losing their jobs rather than concern for the nearly 14 million Americans that will suffer greatly. Still, indeed we can take solace in our knowledge that any GOP MAGAt that votes for this - no matter how they tweak it - will lose their jobs as we incrementally flip Congress and cast them out to infamy.

The math getting to 1/3 working age parents losing their healthcare doesn’t seem right. I wouldn’t spread that analysis.

But yes, the Medicaid cuts would harm millions of Americans.

If the billionaires paid their fare share of taxes, we could have healthcare for all, free childcare, free education, and a stronger safety net.
