Add me to the number of folks who wish you'd been elected DNC Chair. Ken Martin is competent, but he's not inspiring. We need someone who can inspire the party to do better. (IMESHO, of course.)
I think there is room for many kinds of leadership, just as inspiration comes from many sources (including ourselves!). All leaders don't need to look or act alike. Ken Martin is building support for the infrastructure of the state parties, which sorely need that kind of development, and which I find quite inspirational and motivating.
Ben's inspiration tweaks us in different ways. His positivity and focus helped those of us working the ground game in Wisconsin to value our contributions and to keep organizing our neighborhoods, no matter how difficult the process and how long it takes. Others have been motivated and inspired by Ben in other ways.
My wish is that we'd quit comparing our leaders to each other and to some "ideal" we have in our heads for what leadership looks like. Leadership comes in many flavors and we need all of them.

Do you think that one party rule is resulting in bad governance in our states and federal government? I do. I have friends who live all over the country, some in red states, some in blue states and all complain about one party rule and the abuse of power and off the deep end policies they do not support even if they support the majority party in power.
Do you think that if We The People, the voters, ignored both party factions and simply voted in the primaries in the spring of elections against the incumbents that this might help? And then in the fall if voters would ignore the political factions and their so called platform and issues and just voted for the candidate who would balance out their state and federal representation, do you think that this balance might result in better governance?
My thought is that we get better governance when there is a balance of power between factions in our states and federal government. If this line of reasoning is correct, then either there would be deadlock in which case nothing would get done or there would be compromise and in that case, I suspect that only the policy ideas that are acceptable to both sides will become the law of the state or the nation. This could mean that the ideas outside of this compromise would never see the light of day but under one party rule they are showing up in our states and federal government governing.
The good intentions of these ideas from one faction or another often have unintended consequences, like the strait of Hormuz being closed impacting the world economy.
On the way to your plan's implementation, We The People, the voters will have to take our power back from the billionaire financed incumbents and the only way I can think of doing that is for more and more people to adopt a more independent voting process to look at the big picture, the balance of power and when one faction or the other rules with a majority, then We The People, the voters would be wise to balance things out no matter how much money is spent to elect majority candidates to keep the unbalanced power, the power warped towards one faction or the other.
The problem with one party rule, especially over a long period of time is the warped results and so we have different sets of extremes in the blue and red states. Perhaps these can be straightened out if We The People balance out the power. Once that balance is achieved, perhaps the plan you propose could begin to be implemented.
