Thank you for another incisive, inspiring essay, placing what’s now at stake in the historic frame of early Wisconsin progressivism. This moment is also making history. And once again, “The whole world is watching” - just as it was in 1968, when that phrase, chanted by anti-Vietnam War demonstrators as they were beaten and arrested by Chicago police outside the Democratic National Convention, was carried into our living rooms, broadcast on national TV from taped footage on the night of Wednesday, August 28. I was a teenager, my grandfather was an old man - we watched it together and were each shocked, I’m sure, in our own deeply troubled way.
Buying votes, using a lottery to game the voting system, blackmailing someone for their votes, outright stealing votes through gerrymandering, robs honest American voters of their voices. It’s just common sense to imprison someone for attempting to steal the most precious thing an American can own.
Don’t sell your souls for money, Wisconsin. This is your COUNTRY. Hold onto your integrity and do what you know is right.
These indeed are the choices facing us. Will we live free, all of us? Or will we suffer repurposed serfdom, slavery and death.
I choose freedom. How about you?
“Are we feudal serfs of the richest man in the world, Elon Musk? Or are we free?”
Racine Dems today with Judge Protasiewicz…
What would be awesome is if Musk’s candidate lost, and he just wasted all that money.
Vote for Susan Crawford!!

My comment here, inspired by Ben’s essay this morning, led to this essay of my own, also inspired by Ben’s work, and just posted on Facebook and on my substack: https://wendymartyna491843.substack.com/p/the-whole-world-is-watching-again
And shame on the people that took the money

My word why didn’t he get arrested before he gave out millions to voters?
